11/03/25: The Trump administration announces they will partially fund SNAP through November after district court orders these benefits paid. On November 5, AG-Plaintiffs file Response to Court Order that the government's remedy is insufficient and will consider all options going forward. On November 6, Defendants state they will actually pay 65% of benefits in November. The court rejected this proposal and ordered the federal government to pay full benefits. The government immediately filed an appeal of that order.
11/07/25: SCOTUS issues an Administrative Stay of the lower court decision, orders the First Circuit to review the case and issue an order within 48 hours. In response, the federal government issued a notice to all states that they "immediately undo any steps taken to issue full SNAP benefits for November 2025." The First Circuit upholds the District Court order of full SNAP benefits for November.
11/10/25: The District Court schedules a hearing (order pending). Meanwhile, the US Senate announces a deal to re-open the government until at least January 31, 2026.
11/11/25: SCOTUS extends Stay Order on SNAP end of day Thursday 11/13
11/13: Case is moot with the government reopening

08/13/25: The District Court issued an Order Clarifying the Preliminary Injunction, narrowing its scope to only six of the agency’s centers from the order.
